Volunteer participation in the Academy is welcomed and encouraged.
Each year, the Academy needs interested individuals to serve in a variety of short and long-term capacities. Members are invited to touch and influence the collective future of the organization by joining in the planning, direction and decision-making of the Academy.
There are many opportunities for you to become involved:
View Current Volunteer Positions: Support the association by volunteering for an Academy committee or other assignment.
Become a Mentor: Give back to your community by signing up to be a mentor for a new member at the Annual Meeting. A small commitment of time is required in creating tremendous value for your profession.

Join a Division or Interest Group: Expand your network and join one of the Academy's 25 Divisions and Interest Groups.
Submit an Article: Submit a manuscript and sign up to review for one of the Academy's four leading publications: AMLE, AMJ, AMP and AMR.
Nominate a Colleague for an Award: Nominate a colleague for one of the Academy's annual recognition or lifetime achievement awards.
Grow Your Network: Join the conversation or start a group on AOM Connect, participate in listserv discussion, follow the Academy on twitter, become a fan on facebook or join the AOM group on LinkedIn.
Nominate Members for Leadership Positions: Help shape the future leadership of the Academy by submitting your nominations for elected Academy-wide and divisional positions.
Present a Paper at the Annual Meeting: Submit papers, symposia and PDW Workshop proposals to the Annual Meeting submissions website

Volunteer for a Strategic Doing Project: Help move the Academy's Strategic Plan forward. Join the group on AOM Connect to share ideas about strategic objectives and form project teams, or sign up to work on a strategic objective.
How you get involved is up to you, but the collective involvement of members is what makes the Academy such a valuable network for all members.
