AOM was created as a result of two management professors—Charles L. Jamison, University of Michigan and William N. Mitchell, University of Chicago, networking and inviting fellow management professors to meet at the University of Chicago's Quadrangle Club in 1936. More than 80 years later, networking remains one of the Academy's hallmarks.

Career Services enables the broadest reach during the
AOM 2022 hybrid Career Fair

 

On-site interviews: 5-9 August (one-on-one sessions)

Virtual Career Fair: 6-7 August (walk-in, group, or one-on-one sessions)

  • Interviews scheduled by employers are typically informative in nature and last approximately 30 minutes
  • Job Seeker and Employer Do’s and Don’ts can be provided upon request prior to the fair
  • Career Coaches will take appointments for on-site and virtual career coaching

Theresa K. Lant, Professor of Management and Academic Director of the Arts and Entertainment Management Program at the Lubin School of Business, Pace University has been awarded the title of Distinguished Professor. This is the highest honor Pace University bestows on a faculty member in recognition of a sustained record of extensive, extraordinary research and scholarship, outstanding teaching, and exemplary service to the university, community, and the faculty member's professional field.

 

Theresa is a former Board of Governors Representative at Large, a member of the MOC and OB divisions and served as a committee member for MOC and OMT.

Christy Harris Lemak, professor and chair of Health Services Administration at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, has been named recipient of the 2022 Gary L. Filerman Prize for Educational Leadership.

 

“I am grateful for this recognition and, more importantly, to have been able to work with dedicated individuals—academic colleagues, industry executives and students—to improve health administration education in order to develop leaders who will change the world”
