expertise in the development of their manuscript for
potential submission to an Academy journal. Join us for
these upcoming Paper Development Workshops:
A hybrid paper development pre-submission workshop
for an AMD Special Research Forum, "A Whole
Different Ball Game—Exploring the Modern
Organizational Context Through the Lens of
Sports".
PDW hosted by Nanyang Technological University to
develop ideas and working manuscripts for later
submission for review at
Academy of Management Journal.

Auburn University recognizes Brian Connelly, as the Creative Research and Scholarship Award recipient.
Brian is an internationally recognized researcher
exploring how corporate governance structures,
such as shareholders and boards, affect
competition and strategic outcomes. Following 20
years of industry experience at Fortune 500
companies, he has built an academic career that
includes scholarly publications that have been
cited over 10,000 times and 135 invited
presentations at conferences around the world.
“This year’s honorees reflect the level of
impactful teaching, research, and outreach that so
aptly defines our university and drives our
mission,” said Auburn University Interim Provost
Vini Nathan.
Brian is a member of the ENT, HR, IM, OSCM, OB,
RM, and STR divisions.
Professor of Business Herbert Nold teaches
strategic management, operational management, and
leadership in Polk State College’s Business
Program, which benefits from the professional
experience and research of its faculty members.
Herbert enjoyed a distinguished 30-year career in
the public and private sectors, including time as
a manufacturing engineer and CFO who oversaw
operations, information technology, and human
resources. He prides himself on blending his
decades of practical experience with textbook
theory to facilitate students’ connections between
what they learn in the classroom and the real
world.
In cases in which results (whether present or not)
may have important theoretical or practical
implications, scholars are encouraged to follow a

approach.
