Thank you to all who attended AOM 2024!
The AOM community gathered for the 84th Annual Meeting of the Academy of Management from 9-13 August in Chicago Illinois, USA with more than 10,000 members in attendance from around the world. Scholars were eager to connect and collaborate, exploring the theme “Innovating for the Future: Policy, Purpose, and Organization” throughout over 2,000 sessions.
The Opening Reception on Friday, 9 August kicked off AOM 2024 with music, snacks, drinks, and remarks from Past President Sharon Alvarez and Incoming President Peter Bamberger.
The newly formed all-academy group of Student Ambassadors welcomed new members and first-time attendees.

AOM 2024 Career Services Highlights
30 AOM Career Services volunteers welcomed over 400 job seekers and 50 employers this year during the Annual Meeting. In addition, nine AOM Career Coaches met one-on-one with approximately 50 members.
AOM Career Coaches are online and available year-round. Our volunteers are eager to connect with you to discuss your professional goals. Members can select a coach today!

AOM Member and University of Georgia faculty member Mike Pfarrer been named a Fellow of the Southeastern Conference Academic Leadership Development Program.
The program seeks to advance higher education leadership by preparing seasoned faculty leaders for careers in executive service. Ranging in leadership positions and academic interests, the fellows were named through a competitive process.
Pfarrer’s research and teaching focus on strategic decision making, organizational reputation, crisis management and celebrity, and media and corporate communications. His research has been published in Academy of Management Journal, Academy of Management Review, Journal of Management, Journal of Management Studies, Organization Science, Strategic Management Journal and Organizational Research Methods. He currently teaches executive-level, MBA and doctoral courses, and he is a three-time recipient of the MBA Programs’ Outstanding Instructor Award.

Somaiya Vidyavihar University announces appointment of AOM member Prof.(Dr.) Satish Modh as Pro Vice- Chancellor- Strategy and Dean- Faculty of Commerce and Business Studies.
Prof. Modh’s expertise in disaster management, business ethics, and leadership has earned him international recognition. He has been a speaker at prestigious institutions like the University of Southern California and Michigan State University, and his work has been honored with awards such as the Outstanding Reviewer Award at the Academy of Management conference in Boston in 2019 and the Dewang Mehta Award for outstanding contribution to education in 2014.
