AOM 2021 Key Dates
Call for Submissions and Reviewers:
1 December 2020
Submission and Reviewer Centers Open:
3 December 2020
In these bleak times of the Pandemic, you may be
asking yourself: Why should I submit to the AOM
Annual Meeting? The meeting is virtual in 2021,
and so lacks the opportunity to visit an exotic
locale, see long-lost friends and family, or
imbibe with your favorite colleagues. And yet, I
believe there are still great reasons to submit.
Here are my top three reasons:
Be the Change. Make the AOM Annual
Meeting what you want it to be. Submit the kinds of research
you want to see at the meetings; volunteer to review to help
develop the work you want to see presented; round up
like-minded colleagues for a PDW or a symposium. Be creative
and take full advantage of zooming and its incredible
connectivity.
Build your Connections. One of the
major reasons for submitting is to connect with colleagues.
Admittedly, this typically has meant in-person, over a meal
or a cocktail, but in 2021 it’ll have to be a zoom-tail.
While it won’t be the same, it won’t be sitting at home,
alone, either. You can interact with fellow professionals
and learn a lot.
Improve your Professional Reputation.
The Annual Meeting typically draws about 10,000 participants
from around the world. What an audience for your work and a
venue for your research! Inspire your audience. And get
great feedback along the way, from participants and from the
reviewers.
Let’s get going! Hope to see you at the meetings.

Help shape the 2021 Annual Meeting program by volunteering to review!
Choose up to two Divisions or Interest Groups as well as
TLC@AOM and review up to three proposals for each group
you select.
Why review?
Reviewing for the Annual Meeting gives you the
opportunity to explore and improve your research
while gaining insight into multiple research
domains.
Your comments and guidance provide an invaluable
contribution to developing scholarship and is an
important professional responsibility of our
global community.
Peer review is an essential professional value
and duty among AOM members. Contributing as an
AOM reviewer demonstrates your involvement and
commitment to the field!
Paper Development Workshops
are designed to provide authors with guidance and
expertise in the development of their manuscript for
potential submission to an Academy journal.
Each year, AOM presents awards to members in recognition
of outstanding contributions, professional
accomplishments, and distinguished service at AOM’s Annual Meeting.
Have you noticed the leadership of a colleague or peer
who is regularly engaged in advancing scholarship to the
field of management? AOM invites you to share your
recognition for these distinguished individuals and
their accomplishments via 2021 Career Achievement Awards
nominations! Read more here.
