Yes, I'll be attending the virtual AOM meeting this year. Why? It's a great opportunity to meet old friends and also to see new friends. The Academy's Annual Meeting is always a good opportunity to rekindle the friendships you've made over the years in academia, and also a good place to hear about the latest developments in the field. Most papers are pre-publications, which really puts you ahead of the curve to know where a particular field is going.
This year will be my 5th Annual Meeting. One of my previous advisors introduced me to AOM. This incredible community of scholars is one of the main reasons I go to the Annual Meeting. Being part of this community has created meaningful personal and professional opportunities. I have been able to develop my dissertation research as well...I'm able to give back to the community to support the junior faculty and doctoral students.
