As we approach International Volunteer Day on 5 December 2023, the Academy of Management takes a moment to acknowledge and appreciate the invaluable contributions of our dedicated volunteers. For decades, AOM was solely volunteer run. Today, members dedicating their time and talent continues to be integral to AOM’s core of operations. From dedicated Reviewers and Committee volunteers, to those taking on leadership roles within Division and Interest Groups or within our Journal Editorial Teams, we thank our hundreds of volunteers!

As a professional and voluntary association, AOM strives to create community by building networks that facilitate learning and open exchanges. AOM's long history of volunteerism has helped to position it as a global leader in the advancement of management. We celebrate members for their volunteerism, their service in leadership capacities, and their professional accomplishments through AOM's Awards and Recognition activities.

2024 Call for Submissions

The Academy of Management's Divisions and Interest Groups, Affiliates, Teaching & Learning Conference Committee (TLC@AOM), and Caucus Committee invite you to submit to and review for the 84th Annual Meeting of the Academy of Management!

We will convene in person from 9-13 August 2024, in the vibrant city of Chicago, Illinois. This gathering represents AOM’s annual opportunity for all members to reconnect, foster new connections, and immerse ourselves in the realm of scholarly research. All sessions are scheduled to be conducted in person, on-site in Chicago.

We appreciate your forthcoming participation in the Annual Meeting's submission and review processes.

The Past and Future of Absorptive Capacity

AMJ Radio Live and The Lit Review Return for a Second Season

Academy of Management Journal hosts season 2 of their digital series, AMJ Radio Live, providing first-hand information about the publishing process, interviews with the editors of the journal, and discussions of timely research insights in relation to current events. Two key features of this new digital series includes weekly Twitter Space audio segments and The Lit Review monthly podcast.

AMJ Radio Live is held Wednesdays at 11 am EST (GMT-4/UTC-4)

The Lit Review is held the 3rd Wednesday of the month

AMR’s Bridge Reviewer Program Redesigned

The Academy of Management Review’s Bridge Reviewer Program aims to expand the pool of potential reviewers. Participants complete self-guided learning modules on topics such as writing highly developmental reviews, observing the ethics of reviewing, and avoiding bias while reviewing. After completing the learning modules, Bridge Reviewers are matched with an AMR editorial review board mentor to practice reviewing a paper submitted to AMR. The mentors then provide feedback for review.

To sign up, fill out the application form. Look for an email (sent within two weeks) for the learning modules.
