Divisions and Interest Groups (DIGs) reflect a broad range of member interests within 26 management disciplines. They provide collective relationships among members within a particular subject area who share similar aspects of research, interests, and professional scholarship.

The Professional Journey of AOM Membership


Student

A graduate student with an interest in the field of management who meets the eligibility requirements. Students pay reduced dues for a maximum of six consecutive years from the original date of joining (including missed or lapsed years) or until graduation, whichever comes first. Proof of student status is required. Student members are entitled to vote in division elections.

I'm a Student



Academic

A researcher and/or teacher of management in a college, university, or research institute. Academic members are entitled to vote in all Academy-related elections.

I'm an Academic



Executive

A management consultant or other management practitioner. A manager is defined as an individual who spends over 50 percent of his or her time in nonacademic professional management. Executive members are entitled to vote in all Academy-related elections.

Emeritus

Emeritus status is reserved for current Academic or Executive members who have been a member for 10+ consecutive years and are retired and without full-time employment. Emeriti pay reduced rates, retain full membership benefits, and are entitled to vote in all Academy-related elections.
