Visa Information

Disclaimer: The information below is intended to assist conference attendees with their travel arrangements. Each individual traveling to the Academy of Management (AOM) Annual Meeting is responsible for researching all requirements necessary for entry to the United States specific to his or her case. AOM has no influence on an individual's application to an embassy or other agency for a visa to travel to the United States. AOM is not responsible for the outcome of an individual's visa application. 

General Information

A citizen of a foreign country entering the United States generally must first obtain a visa. Advance travel planning and early visa application prior to registration is highly encouraged. The number of visas that can be processed by the consulates and embassies is very limited in some countries and wait times for appointments can be long.

A visa letter from AOM is not required to start the application process. However, AOM can provide a letter to assist.

  • Available for participants on finalized submissions: The Academy can provide a “Submitter Invitation Letter” to assist with your early preparations to travel to the United States. The “Submitter Invitation Letter” will be available to those appearing in any formal role on a finalized submission. As soon as a submission is finalized during the submission period (early December through the submission deadline), the letter may be found in the Submission Center. Please note that a finalized submission will be considered for the program but may not necessarily be accepted on to the program.
  • Available for all other registrants: The Academy can provide a “Registration Letter” to those who’ve registered for the Annual Meeting and require an invitation letter for their travel to the United States. The letter may be found in your AOM member profile, under the ‘Conferences’ tab. If you prefer to obtain your visa prior to registering (recommended), you may request an invitation letter for non-registrants by contacting registration@aom.org

Registration Fee Refund Policy

The Annual Meeting registration fee is refundable until 16 July 2024 17:00 ET (UTC-4/GMT-4) and is subject to an $85 processing fee. We are unable to provide a refund for cancellation after 16 July 2024 17:00 ET (UTC-4/GMT-4) due to contractual obligations and guarantees. Exceptions will not be made for registrants with cancelled travel arrangements or who require a visa and registered before acquiring one.
