The ONE Division is devoted to research addressing how organizations impact and are impacted by the natural environment. Given the substantial environmental challenges we face, including climate change, resource depletion and biodiversity loss, we encourage impactful scholarship that addresses how these challenges affect managerial practice, organizational strategy, and broader society. We particularly encourage scholarship that offers insights into strategies and actions that can contribute to possible solutions in the context a natural system that approaching multiple carrying capacities and that requires the management of multiple objective function over long periods of time.
ONE invites papers and symposia that address the relationship between organizations and the natural environment. ONE can contribute to the AOM 2025 conference with a program focused on how the ONE domain intersects with innovation, policy, and purpose; considering how our research can shape how we reimagine and work towards a more just and sustainable future.
Joint symposium proposals are welcome. We especially invite PhD students and new international members, including those who have not previously submitted research to the Academy or ONE Division. If, for your symposium, you would be inviting industry speakers and would need a conference fee waiver, please ensure details of this are included in your submission (we cannot promise the waiver will be granted as it will depend on allocations, but knowing potential needs upfront is extremely useful).
Along with this Call for Submissions, we also make a Call for Reviewers. If you plan to submit a paper, please also do your part to help us review submissions, which will include yours. Our reviewers are extremely important to constructing a rich and valuable program, by offering constructive comments and providing a supportive atmosphere within the division.
The Submission Center opens in early December 2024 and closes on Tuesday, 7 January at 17:00 ET (UTC-5/GMT-5). Please pay attention to submission guidelines as they will be applied, and non-conforming submissions declined.
The ONE Division offers multiple awards (see Awards section of our website). The Program Chair and Awards Team selects winners of awards for Best Paper, Best Student Paper and Best Reviewer.
In addition, the ONE Division puts forward papers eligible for AOM awards, such as the William H. Newman Award for an outstanding single-authored paper from a dissertation and the Carolyn B.
