Joint AMR and Annals Idea Development Workshop, New York

New York , UNITED STATES
Gabelli School of Business, Fordham University, 140 West 62nd Street, Plenary Room 333

In-person workshop at Gabelli School of Business, Fordham University. Registration and 350-word abstract required to participate in workshop.

Joint in-person workshop hosted by Gabelli School of Business, Fordham University

Purpose and Agenda

This idea development workshop (IDW) is primarily geared toward early career researchers (e.g., assistant professors, postdoctoral fellows) and PhD students who are interested in publishing in AMR—the highest-ranked journal publishing conceptual and theoretical articles, or anyone (regardless of rank) interested in publishing in the Annals—the journal dedicated to publishing integrative reviews. This IDW is open to anyone though we will give preference to individuals from institutions in Eastern North America. This workshop is designed to help participants develop great ideas that are the foundation for well-crafted manuscripts suitable for submission to AMR, or proposals for submission to the Annals.

The workshop has two parts. In the first part, we provide information about publishing in both AMR and the Annals. The AMR team will discuss what makes a successful AMR paper, why papers are rejected, and how to address the core challenges often seen in rejected papers. The Annals team will provide an overview of the publication process of the Annals, how proposals are evaluated, and how to address the key elements of the proposal. Participation in this part of the workshop is limited to 200 participants.

In the second part, we offer roundtable discussions of participants’ ideas for papers to be submitted to AMR or the Annals (please come prepared to discuss your idea). We will match 5–6 participants with a facilitator such as an Associate Editor or Editorial Board Member, who will discuss and provide feedback on these ideas. Participation in this part of the workshop is limited to 120 participants.

Registration Information

The deadline to register is 3 December 2024. To do so, please complete the registration form, including a 350-word abstract of your theoretical or conceptual idea if you would like to participate in both parts of the workshop.
