DRIVING GOAL 1 / DRIVING GOAL 2 / DRIVING GOAL 3 / DRIVING GOAL 4
AOM is connecting members of the global management and organization community with one another and with external audiences through an unparalleled portfolio of engagement opportunities that transcend technological and geographic boundaries.
What does that mean for our worldwide membership?
Many organizations and the world’s social structures have been vastly challenged, and, in some cases, devastated by the COVID-19 global pandemic. Against this backdrop, the Academy of Management developed a hybrid conference model for a post-COVID
return to an onsite meeting in Seattle, Washington, USA. We welcomed back over 7,000 in-person attendees and nearly 3,000 virtual attendees, representing 88 countries, from 5 August - 9 August for the 82nd Annual Meeting of the Academy
of Management.
Created with four guiding principles in mind – 1) service to members; 2) participation and interaction; 3) access to content; and 4) organizational sustainability – the Academy pushed the boundaries of what the Annual Meeting could achieve by hosting
its first hybrid event. Members met on site in Seattle and virtually to network and share research in new and exciting ways.
