On behalf of the Health Care Management (HCM) Division, I welcome you to submit your papers, symposia proposals, and posters (new this year!) for consideration for the 85th Annual Meeting of the Academy of Management to be held in Copenhagen, Denmark, from 25 to 29 July 2025.
The HCM Division invites submissions addressing all facets of management in the health care sector. Topics may include management of health care organizations, public policy issues, health care finance and marketing, comparisons of health care across countries; and empirical or conceptual applications of theory in health care organizations and care settings.
In symposium sessions, several speakers discuss a common topic or theme in a manner that brings new insights to the subject. There are two types of symposia: Panel Symposia engage a group of panelists in a formal interactive discussion while Presenter Symposia involve a series of authored presentations on a preset theme. Unlike papers and posters, symposia may be submitted to multiple Divisions or Interest Groups (DIG).
As a new submission option, poster submissions will require an extended abstract manuscript that will be reviewed by the selected DIG. If accepted, submitters will be expected to create a poster presentation to be displayed visually that summarizes their research findings, methods, and conclusions. Poster presentations will be scheduled in one-hour in-person poster sessions taking place in a highly visible location at the Annual Meeting.
Papers with a PhD student as the first or sole author should be clearly identified at the time of submission.
The HCM division honors the following papers:
**Be sure to identify your paper as award eligible at the time of submission.
