The Operations and Supply Chain Management (OSCM) Division invites you to submit creative and innovative proposals for Professional Development Workshops (PDWs) for the 2025 Academy of Management Annual Meeting in Copenhagen, Denmark. PDWs will take place Friday, 25 July through Sunday, 27 July 2025. Scholarly sessions will take place Sunday, 27 July through Tuesday, 29 July 2025.
The OSCM Division encourages PDWs that build knowledge and share expertise oriented towards emerging research themes and methods as well as management practice in the OSCM area. PDW sessions are also intended for professional development of the participants, so sessions around innovative research and teaching development are called for. PDWs can take different formats, such as workshops, tutorials, debates, roundtable discussions, panel discussions, facility tours, etc. Feel free to be creative!
We highly encourage PDW proposals that link to other divisions/interest groups with joint sponsorship as well as ones that are more international or multicultural considering the conference’s location in Copenhagen, Denmark. Some examples of PDW topics that could be considered in the context of OSCM are the responsible integration of emerging technologies such as AI, navigating paradoxes and complexities in digital and green transformation (i.e., the ‘twin transition’), future-oriented supply chain innovation efforts, how these developments (re-)shape our domain’s future research agenda and professional development as scholars, and how can we innovate our teaching practices for the future in light of the preponderance of emerging technologies.
If you have questions or would like to discuss or suggest a potential idea, please contact the 2025 OSCM Division PDW Chair, Kaitlin Wowak. Acceptance of PDW proposals will be based on (a) relevance to the interests of the Division’s membership, (b) creativity and innovation, and (c) plan for creating an inclusive, interactive, and developmental session. (Note: Traditional presentations of research papers should be submitted to the Scholarly Program portion of the Annual Meeting).
Proposals must be submitted online via the AOM Submission Center. Please submit all proposals along with any joint-division “sponsorship” suggestions using this website. We certainly welcome proposals that are of interest to members of other divisions (e.g., CTO, ENT, HCM, HR, MC, MOC, OB, OMT, ONE, PNP, SAP, SIM, STR, TIM).
Deadline for Submissions is Tuesday, January 7th 2025 at 17:00 ET (UTC-5/GMT-5). Early submissions are highly encouraged. Please note that all PDW participants must commit to participation in advance.
