AOM Honors Thomas (Tom) W. Lee, AOM’s 63rd President

26 Jun 2021
The Academy of Management mourns the loss of Tom Lee, a humble scholar and leader who made a lasting impact on the discipline of management.

2016-TomLeeIt is with heartfelt sorrow that I share the sad news that the Academy’s 63rd President, Thomas (Tom) W. Lee, passed away Friday, June 18, at the age of 68.

Words cannot describe our grief at losing such a servant leader within the Academy of Management. Known across academia for his contributions to both scholarship and teaching, Tom also left his indelible mark on guiding our association and developing its future leaders.

It’s a testament to the quick-moving networking amongst our AOM community that since this tragic occurrence, many moving tributes to Tom have already been shared. I recommend this article, posted from the Foster School Magazine at Tom’s own University of Washington, for an in-depth look at Tom’s incredible work and impact over the course of his life.

Please join me in remembering Tom’s gifted and generous spirit. You can share your own memories through this threaded discussion initiated in Connect@AOM. I look forward to cherishing his memory together.

Sincerely,

Quinetta Roberson

Academy President
